CLINICAL CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY
Sometimes, words are only the beginning.
A warm, person-centred space to explore your inner world through creativity. Online in Aotearoa New Zealand and France. In-person sessions coming to Lyon.
No artistic experience needed. Just you, as you are.

01 / THE PRACTICE
/ ʒɛst / · French, noun
An intentional gesture.
A trace of what lives within.
There are things we feel before we can find the words for them.
Creative arts therapy is a form of psychotherapy that brings together the mind, body and imagination. Through art, music, writing, movement or nature, we make space to explore thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
In French arts, le geste is the physical trace of your inner world through the act of creation. A mark on a page, a movement, a few words — each can offer a place to begin.
It’s about the process, not the finished piece.
No artistic experience is needed.
A COLLABORATIVE, PERSON-CENTRED APPROACH
My role is to stand beside you. Together, we follow your curiosity, respect your pace, and explore what matters to you — with warmth, empathy and room to be yourself.

03 / THE PERSON BESIDE YOU
Gianna Degueldre · MA, AThR
I'm a Clinical Creative Arts Therapist with a Master's degree in Clinical Art Therapy from [UNIVERSITY]. I hold active practising registration (AThR) with ANZACATA, the professional association for creative arts therapists in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
At Arts for Health, I [WHAT SHE DID, e.g. ran group and one-to-one sessions for people living with long-term health conditions]. I have also worked with [CLIENT GROUPS, e.g. adults dealing with stress and burnout, young people, older adults].
I know what it is like to build a life between two places. [ONE OR TWO PERSONAL LINES, e.g. After many years in Aotearoa New Zealand, I recently moved to France with my family.] That experience shapes how I work with people who are far from home, starting over, or carrying two cultures at once.
My practice brings clinical psychological frameworks together with the expressive possibilities of art, movement, writing, music and nature. I work in a client-led way, with your needs, your experiences and your sense of safety at the centre of our work.

06 / A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT WONDER
Something else on your mind?
You’re welcome to ask ↗
Not at all. The focus is on creating and expressing, rather than producing a finished artwork. No artistic skills or background are needed.
We might use visual art, writing, music, movement or nature. We decide together what feels right for you. You do not need to try every modality, and your comfort and choices guide the process.
We meet by video for 50–55 minutes. Before your first appointment, we’ll agree on a time, share the joining details and discuss any simple materials you might like to have nearby. A private, comfortable space is a good starting point.
Yes. A complimentary 15-minute online meet-and-greet is a chance to say hello, discuss what you’re looking for, and see whether we feel like a good fit. There is no pressure to continue.
The Lyon practice is being planned. The location, start date and fees are still to be confirmed. You can email to express interest and ask about updates.
The easiest way is to book a free 15-minute chat using the online calendar. You can also email gianna@geste.eu with your country or time zone and what you're interested in. Full sessions are arranged by email after we've met, and an enquiry does not confirm an appointment.
Sessions are currently offered in English.
