01 / THE PRACTICE

The trace of
your inner world.

geste

/ ʒɛst / · French, noun
An intentional gesture.
A trace of what lives within.

There are things we feel before we can find the words for them.

Creative arts therapy is a form of psychotherapy that brings together the mind, body and imagination. Through art, music, writing, movement or nature, we make space to explore thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

In French arts, le geste is the physical trace of your inner world through the act of creation. A mark on a page, a movement, a few words — each can offer a place to begin.

It’s about the process, not the finished piece.
No artistic experience is needed.

A COLLABORATIVE, PERSON-CENTRED APPROACH

You are the expert
in your own life.

My role is to stand beside you. Together, we follow your curiosity, respect your pace, and explore what matters to you — with warmth, empathy and room to be yourself.

02 / THE PERSON BESIDE YOU

Hello, I’m Gianna.

Gianna Degueldre · MA, AThR

A creative arts therapist, bridging two hemispheres.

I am a qualified Clinical Creative Arts Therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Art Therapy and active practising credentials with ANZACATA. My experience includes working at Arts for Health.

My practice brings clinical psychological frameworks together with the expressive possibilities of multi-modal creation. Whether you are navigating burnout, a cross-cultural move, or a wish to understand yourself more deeply, I offer a non-judgmental space to explore.

I work in a deeply client-led way, with your needs, experiences and sense of safety at the centre of our work.

05 / A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT WONDER

Room for
your questions.

Something else on your mind?
You’re welcome to ask ↗

Do I need to be good at art?

Not at all. The focus is on creating and expressing, rather than producing a finished artwork. No artistic skills or background are needed.

What might we do in a session?

We might use visual art, writing, music, movement or nature. We decide together what feels right for you. You do not need to try every modality, and your comfort and choices guide the process.

How do online sessions work?

We meet by video for 50–55 minutes. Before your first appointment, we’ll agree on a time, share the joining details and discuss any simple materials you might like to have nearby. A private, comfortable space is a good starting point.

Can we meet before I book a full session?

Yes. A complimentary 15-minute online meet-and-greet is a chance to say hello, discuss what you’re looking for, and see whether we feel like a good fit. There is no pressure to continue.

Are in-person sessions available in Lyon?

The Lyon practice is being planned. The location, start date and fees are still to be confirmed. You can email to express interest and ask about updates.

How do I arrange an appointment?

Use the enquiry options below or email gestcreative@gmail.com. Let me know your country or time zone and whether you’re interested in a meet-and-greet or a full session. We’ll arrange availability by email; an enquiry does not confirm an appointment.
